Send new Google Drive files straight to your digital brain

Drop a document in a Google Drive folder and have it land in your digital brain automatically — parsed, connected, and ready to query. No more uploading files one by one.

The problem it solves

Proposals, reports, briefs, and PDFs pile up in Google Drive, but they're only useful to your AI if they're in your digital brain. Uploading each one by hand is the kind of small friction that quietly never happens — so the knowledge stays trapped in a folder no agent can reach. This template removes the step entirely: anything you save to a chosen folder is captured the moment it lands.

How to set it up

  1. 1

Choose the Google Drive folder to watch

Connect your Google Drive account and pick the trigger "New File in Folder." Select the folder you want monitored — a dedicated "To Brain Graph" folder, or an existing client or project folder. The Zap fires whenever a file is created in, moved to, or uploaded to that folder.

  2. 2

Filter to the file types your brain reads (optional)

Add a "Filter by Zapier" step set to "Only continue if…" so the Zap proceeds only for supported document types — PDF, DOCX, TXT, MD. This keeps images, spreadsheets, or anything you don't want to ingest from cluttering your graph.

  3. 3

Send the file to Brain Graph

Add the Brain Graph action "Upload Document (File)," connect with your BrainGraph API key, and map the Google Drive file to the document field. Brain Graph extracts the text and processes it into your knowledge graph in the background.

  4. 4

Test it, then turn it on

Run Zapier's test step with a real file to confirm it appears in your brain, then switch the Zap on. From here, every document you save to that folder is captured automatically.

Zapier integrations are available on BrainGraph's paid plans — see plans. You'll also need a BrainGraph API key — create a free account and mint one from the API Keys page in your settings.

What you get once it's running

  • Every document you save to the folder becomes instantly queryable
  • No manual uploads — the capture step disappears from your workflow
  • Filtered to the file types your brain actually reads
  • Knowledge that used to sit in a folder is now reachable by your AI agents
